Crystal-Less Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion - a wonderful alternative to laser or chemical peels. A non-invasive, non-surgical treatment requiring no downtime.

Your skin will have a radiant glow, free of irritation and loose particles. You will experience softer, smoother and cleaner skin after the first treatment. Treatment series vary from four to ten sessions every 2 to 4 weeks, depending on condition being treated and type of skin.

The Microdermabrasion wand removes the topmost layer of skin by gently exfoliating the skin with natural diamond chips, while at the same time vacuuming the dead skin cells away in a sterile and controlled manner. Very effective for surface scars (from acne), fine lines and other skin imperfections.

Carolyns take on the treatment: "Being I am one of the first Aestheticians to actual do microdermabrasions and have it in my clinic working with skin acids when they first came into the skin clinic environment, I have seen amazing results for all skin types. I have used microderm with many different skin acids to get the results my clients love. I will continue to tell my clients and anyone who asks- my microdermabrasion technique along with the different acids for specific skin results will continue to be successful in reducing acne scars, hyperpigmentation, rejuvenation and maintaining youthful skin as long as a home care program and microdermabrasions are used in a consistent, timely manner."  I am very passionate about my skin treatments and the results my clients acheive. My clients will agree.

What is Aesthetic Exfoliation?

Years of sun exposure and the aging process take their toll on the skin, creating lines, wrinkles, and changes in texture and color. Not only is the face a likely victim of these changes, but the neck, chest, cleavage, arms and hands may be affected as well. MicroExfoliation can reduce the effects of aging on our skin.

MicroExfoliation is a treatment that improves wrinkles, skin texture and color by removing the topmost layer of skin leaving it more supple and vibrant. MicroExfoliation also stimulates the elastic tissue beneath the surface of the skin resulting in a healthier and firmer appearance. MicroExfoliation treatments are administered by trained aestheticians.

A wonderful alternative to chemical peels, the NewApeel™ MicroExfoliation treatment is non-invasive, pain-free and requires no down time after treatment. Leading plastic surgeons and dermatologist regard the NewApeel™ system as being more gentle and affective than other exfoliating systems, even at higher settings. The length of the treatment and number of treatments vary depending on skin type and condition. Results are gradual but highly effective. Most people experience softer, smoother skin after their first treatment.

LED Light Therapy Treatments

Light Therapy stimulates the energy in cells which causes the frivroplasts to produce more collagen and elastin proteins. The  skin shows increase in circulation, reduction in puffiness, smoother and brighter skin, decreases hyperpigmentation, and improves the appearance of fine lines.

Light Therapy is safe when applied properly and has not feeling. The low light power is known as LED's "Light Emitting Diodes". Light Therapy has been used by NASA to heal astronauts while in space. LED Therapy is the new generation of skin treatments to combat the skin's signs of aging.

Candela GentleLase Plus

The Candela GentleLase Plus lasers are “real” lasers.  The Gentlelase laser does not require messy gels or creams. The patented technolgy of the use of cryogen which cools the skin prior to the pulse allows laser hair removal to be completed comfortably and with ease to the client. The IPL equipment that is available (Intense Pulse Light) is not considered a laser and does not have a way to cool the skin with no real guarantees of getting rid of the hair. I know from experience “absolutely” what laser is best for targeting hair and that is the Candela GentleLase Plus. My clients all agree.

What is laser hair removal and why is it a safe
treatment?
Lasers have been used for many years for a variety of medical cosmetic procedures including treatment of facial and leg veins, age spots and smoothing fine lines on the face. The laser used at this clinic is a revolutionary long pulse, high energy alexandrite laser system which emits a gentle beam of light that passes through the skin. The laser energy is transformed into heart, which can disable the follicle leaving the surrounding skin unchanged. The skin is further protected during treatment by a dynamic cooling process where a cryogen is sprayed onto the skin cooling the upper layers providing patients increased comfort. This selectivity treating the unwanted hair.

What condition are treated with the laser?
Traditional hair removal techniques, such a shaving, tweezing and waxing, provide only temporary relief. Until now, the only semi-permanent way to remove hair has been by electrolysis- which can be painful, time-consuming and is limited to small cosmetic areas. Scarring, allergic reactions and ingrown hairs are common side effects of all these hair removal methods. The laser used here safely removes unwanted body hair without damaging the delicate pores and structures of the skin.
Note:
Facial and bikini areas are usually completed in under ten minutes, legs and larger areas take longer.

Why should I have Laser Hair Removal
 treatment?
This is a procedure to remove unwanted hair. The best results have been achieved on darker, finer hair but other factors may influence the treatment process, and are generally best evaluated and discussed in person. The laser hair removal process offers safe and effective treatment.

What does the treatment Include?
Depending on the amount of hair treated, the procedure varies from client to client. Generally, the treatment will include:

-     Safety eyewear to protect the client’s eyes during the procedure from intense laser light.

-    A small hand piece be used with a probe that touches the skin to deliver the laser light. A light spray of coolant onto the skin will be felt just before each laser pulse.

-     Most clients experience little discomfort at the treatment site because of the dynamic cooling device.

-     The degree of discomfort varies with each person, depending on his/her pain threshold.

-     The procedure can take as little as 10 minutes or up to an hour, depending on the area treated.

-     The treated area may become pink or red within about 30 minutes of treatment, this may last a few minutes, hours and rarely few days.

What precautions should be taken before and after treatment?
Avoid the sun, tanning booths and self-tanners 4-6 weeks before and after treatment until your laser technician allows it. You MUST avoid bleaching, tweezing or waxing hair 6 weeks prior to treatment. If you have had a history of perioral herpes, prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed by you physician or dentist.

If you are tan or have a darker skin type. A bleaching lotion is recommended to be started 4-6 weeks before treatment.

You should discuss your desired results and improvements you expect to achieve. Together you and the technician can decide if your expectations will be met and if this laser treatment is the best option.

How many treatments will I need?

Hair grows in cycles. The number of treatments required depends upon your skin, hair coloring and coarseness of the hair . Everyone will require at least 6 treatments as the process is only effective on hairs during their growing cycle and the approximate amount of hairs in their cycle. Repeated sessions will be necessary to treat these follicles when they re-enter the growth phase.
